Welcome to the online art studio of John Avon.

I am an English freelance illustrator, working primarily in the field of Fantasy and Science Fiction. My professional art career started in 1983, when I initially accepted all aspects of commercial advertising, from local brochures to national advertising campaigns. Soon my work expanded and I began to paint book-covers, including internationally distinguished authors such as Steven King, Terry Pratchett, Arthur C. Clark, among many others.

Over the last decade I have produced hundreds of paintings for the collectable trading card game “Magic The Gathering” in co-operation with Wizards Of The Coast who have gone on to become my longest standing and favorite client.
