Welcome to the new John Avon website!I am a British illustrator working primarily in the field of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Since starting work in 1983, I have illustrated many hundreds of books for well know authors like Stephen King, Terry Pratchet, Arthur C. Clarke, Harry Harrison, Peter James and many others.Apart from fantasy art I have also worked on National Advertising Campaigns, CD covers, Game, Toy and TV Development. Though I have worked in many areas, I specialize in environmental art and emotive landscapes. Over the last 15 years I have produced many designs for the worldwide collectible trading card game "Magic The Gathering" in co-operation with Wizards Of The Coast. At numerous events and conventions I have appeared and had the privilege to travel to countries like Japan, Australia, South Africa, Russia, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, U.S.A. and all over Europe. In the Gallery and shop section of this site, there is a huge selection of standard and large prints. The new site features a new Gallery where you can go straight to my art via a subject category- like Forests and Trees, or just use the Search button to find a specific name like "Mirrodin" "Zendikar" or "Unhinged".
